Direct-fired circulator
Approved document L, Conservation of Fuel and Power, Volume 2: Buildings other than dwellings, 2021 edition incorporating 2023 amendments, defines direct-fired circulator as: ‘A domestic hot water system in which the water is supplied to the drawoff points from a hot water vessel in which water is heated by combustion gases from a primary energy source. The unit has no storage volume, as water is stored in a supplementary storage vessel.’
